State award presented to senior forensic medicine expert Jūratė Jankauskienė
On 16 February - the Day of the Restoration of the State of Lithuania, the President of the Republic of Lithuania presented state awards to citizens of Lithuania and foreign countries whose work has contributed to the growth, prosperity and well-being of our country and its people. The happy news is that Jūratė Jankauskienė, senior forensic expert of the Serology and DNA Laboratory of the State Forensic Medicine Service, was awarded with the Knight's Cross of the Order "For Services to Lithuania" for especially significant DNA tests that helped to identify the remains of commanders and partisans of the defense forces of the Lithuanian Freedom Movement and contributed to honoring their memory.
