Internship for the students from Japan
In April, 2024 two medical students of the School of Medicine of the International University of Health and Welfare, Narita, Japan, were attending and successfully completed a four-weeks clinical training course in forensic medicine held in the State Forensic Medicine Service (hereinafter - SFMS). During the internship the students were introduced to the variety of forensic medical expert activities carried out by SFMS. The course included observation of the examinations of the deceased and injured persons in the Vilnius Division, visits to SFMS laboratories where forensic medicine experts introduced the students to different types of forensic toxicology, histology, medical criminalistics and anthropology, forensic genetics examinations, innovative methods and equipment used, discussed the interpretation of results and findings, prevailing trends and other related specific issues.The Japanese students introduced SFMS specialists to the organizational structure and forensic medical activities conducted in Japan, medical study programs.
