Certificates for Toxicology Laboratory
Aiming to ensure the quality of expertise and tests carried out at the institution, as well as the reliability of the established results in accordance with the requirements of the international standard LST EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 ‘General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories‘, departments of the State Forensic Medicine Service participate in international interlaboratory comparative research programs. The participation of SFMS Toxicology laboratory in international programs initiated by the UNODC - United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Austria, was evaluated with a Certificate and Letter of Appreciation, confirming the successful participation of this laboratory in the UNODC International Collaborative Exercises program (ICE), identifying narcotic and psychotropic substances in biological samples, in the period 2020 - 2022. Also, since 2005, the Toxicology Laboratory has been successfully participating in another international interlaboratory comparative research program, ‘Labquality’ (Finland, Helsinki), which is accredited according to the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 17043. The program is designed to determine methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol and ethylene glycol in blood.
